After about a month of attending family dinners with Xanxus, Squalo couldn't keep his mouth shut any longer. 'Boss,' he said, once they were home again, safely within the walls of her rooms where the wrong ears weren't going to hear him. 'You think I can get away with killing Enrico?' )

Firestorm has a handful of original characters in various roles. Below are a couple of tables of these and a couple of notes about why and when I've used original characters, for them as enjoy such neepery.

Notes on Firestorm: Warning, contains spoilers! )

Choice: The Betrothal Arc

In which Tsuna isn't Tsuna but Tsunako, and lived with her parents in Italy for a few years before circumstances made moving to Namimori seem advisable. And changes spiral out from there. For the [livejournal.com profile] khrfest prompt Xanxus/Tsuna - genderswap; "don't look down on me because I'm a woman."

Note: This arc doesn't take canon developments from the manga after chapter 282 into consideration and uses the set of guardians for the Ninth from other versions of Choice; if OCs bother you, well... they're mostly peripheral to the action, I promise.

First Meetings: This is what happened the first time Xanxus and Tsunako met.

Matchmaker: In which the Ninth is almost out of options. But not quite.

Drive a Bargain: In which the Ninth finds his mislaid spine and drives a bargain with Squalo.

Betrothal by Fiat: Sit down, princess, Daddy has something to discuss with you.

First Impressions: It behooves home tutors to discuss pedagogical strategies with one another.

Dying Will: In which Tsunako experiences her own Dying Will for the first time.

But Not Both: You can have one of the other; you can't have both.

Got Your Back: Every mafia princess needs a bodyguard. Or two.

Shoot It Out: Sometimes it's satisfying to just put a hole, or ten, in something.

Reconsiderations: In which Bianchi and Reborn reconsider their lesson plans.

Thaw: In which the Ninth thaws Xanxus out.

A Year in the Life: In which Tsunako gathers up a Family of her own.

Delegation: It's important for a leader to know how to delegate.

Reunion: In which Squalo is reunited with his boss.

Title: Blood Will Tell
Characters: Xanxus, Timoteo Vongola, Sawada Iemitsu, the 9th gen Guardians
Summary: Sometimes one small mistake can lead to an entire avalanche of nasty consequences.
Notes: This fic is part of the Generations project with [personal profile] branchandroot, occurring in the arc "A House Divided." Character appendix here (warning: spoilers!). Some small divergences from manga canon; a veritable confluence of clusterfuck. 10,164 words.

One of the first things Sawada Iemitsu did in his apprenticeship to the Vongola Ninth's outside advisor was bring the Ninth news of the woman who claimed that her son belonged to Timoteo Vongola. It was an act that Iemitsu reflected on later, grimly, deciding that it was the event that colored his entire service to the Vongola. )

Title: Two Hands Make a Pair
Characters: Timoteo Vongola, Gianni, Rafaele
Summary: In which the Vongola Ninth's Mist and Rain reach an agreement, and establish a pattern that will carry them forward.
Notes: This fic is part of the Generations project with [personal profile] branchandroot, occurring in the arc "A House Divided." This is set about ten years before "Blood Will Tell." Timoteo has been the Ninth for a little under a decade at this point. This is a sidestory for the arc, focusing pretty much entirely on two of the original characters, and is not necessary to the main thrust of A House Divided--but it may make some character motivations make more sense later. For a character guide, see the appendix (warning: spoilers for the arc!). Written for the prompt "red wine." Contains fraught smut. 3727 words.

Gianni may have been the Vongola Ninth's right hand, and his Mist Guardian besides, but he wasn't too proud to admit it when he was tired. And tonight, he was tired. )

Title: The Family You Choose
Characters: Timoteo Vongola, his Guardians
Summary: It is time for Timoteo to choose his Guardians, and he's determined to do things his way.
Notes: This fic is part of the Generations project with [personal profile] branchandroot. This fic begins the arc "A House Divided," which focuses on the Ninth and his relationship with his Guardians and Xanxus. This project owes its inspiration to [personal profile] jetsam/[livejournal.com profile] thephoenixboy, who correctly guessed which fic was mine in the first round of [livejournal.com profile] khr_undercover, and requested a fic featuring Timoteo and his Guardians as her reward. I don't believe she quite expected her request to spawn an entire humongous arc, but what can I say? It was a provocative prompt! *grin* General audiences, 6578 words. For a character guide, see the appendix (warning: spoilers for the arc!).

'Is it already time to be thinking of that?' Timoteo asked, to make time for his mind to race ahead and turn over the possibilities. 'You're still very young, Mother.' 'How kind of you to say,' she said, eyes glinting, not without humor. 'I said that we were ready to confirm you as my heir, not that I was ready to step down. Don't get too far above yourself.' )
