"You brave soul! This crossover NEEDED doing (which I only realised after I saw it :D), but the obvious hurdle of 'WTF real people and freaking Katekyo Hitman Reborn, how could anyone, what madness' must have been tough."

*laughing* Thank you! My first thought, when the idea occurred to me, was, "This is either the most genius thing I have ever thought of, or I have lost my mind." But the writing actually went fairly well, once I got started on it.

As for Irie--in my head, and also [personal profile] branchandroot's, Irie is the logical choice for Tsuna's outside advisor, because he's both inside and outside the Family.

Regarding Mukuro and his ethnicity... *wry* I go back and forth on this one. I ended up taking the Asian route because of the way he's named, and because, if nothing else, he's the Mist and can manipulate his appearance. But I expect that a body could make the case that he's Italian, too. (But I figure that if Gokudera can be one-quarter Japanese descent, Mukuro can be Asian too. Oh, manga, you and your wacky approaches to national origin.)

Anyway! When I was writing this, I was honestly unsure of how the confrontation would resolve itself--because I really, really didn't want Tsuna to have to feed the brothers to the Varia, but on the other hand, I really wondered whether Conner and Murphy would be able to compromise their perceived mission, even for Tsuna and his mission to reform the Vongola. This was about the best compromise I could manage for them. (And it was a near thing; I know pretty much exactly how the alternate ending would have gone. And it would have been ouchy.)

Thank you so much for commenting--I'm really glad to hear that you enjoyed this fic!
