She was asking him? Somehow that just seemed—wrong. Improper.
Okay yeah, she took a subby guy and made him ten times more subby. Ouchies. XD He likes it like that, too! I'm sure! >__>

This is both adorable and really heartbreaking. Also it shows how far she's come, in trusting and loving him, that she can even want a relationship when she isn't in total control via terror, but because she trusts the guy to have her best interests at heart and that makes her feel safe enough not to *need* to be in control nonstop.
Since Xanxus was more of a tactician than she tended to let on, that was probably what she wanted.

OH GOD YES PLOT I CANNOT WAIT. But anyway... whee.
(And I love how her falling for him didn't imply him getting more dom-like or her being all 'okay from now on you can top me, i was only insisting on being in control because i was ~afraid ~of my natural place in the order of things~', but that's like loving a fic for not sucking and is not a great compliment, my apologies. Stupid cheap cliche-reinforcing cookie-cutter plots, they're friggin everywhere.)
You know, some days when I read this fic I forget entirely Xanxus was actually a guy in canon. She works so well as the woman you write her as. Badass and dominant and still very much a woman goddamnit.
