By the time I got to the end and we had the full story of everything that had led him to do all these things, I was just like 'Yup, that is EXACTLY how Yamamoto would deal with all of this.' I always feel like he's the one that would have the most trouble letting go of a normal life once they're all -really- in the mafia. He gives up everything he's ever wanted so that he can protect Tsuna, he never keeps anything for himself, and it slowly kills him inside (especially when bad things like what happened in this fic happen). It's not surprising that he'd finally get sick of it and decide that he -has- to have something of his own, separate from the Vongola, to keep himself sane.
The scene where Yamamoto talks to Squalo was probably my favorite, even though it was pretty short -- I absolutely love their dynamic, and of COURSE Squalo would be the first person to drop by and speak his mind, unannounced. <3 That was perfection, this entire thing was perfection.
Hibari was also perfect! I love these two and I love how they don't really need words to express anything; it's all in the body language and the subtleties, and it's beautiful and breathtakingly perfect when Hibari decides to stay. I cannot even stress enough how much I loved all of this! jfka;jfkajf
